Christmas break so far

This is a video that Dada put together of my adventures so far during Christmas break. We've been stuck inside because the weather has been so bad. But we did sneak out a little.

If you can't tell what I'm saying it's not me, it's you. I hope everyone has safe and happy holidays. God bless us, everyone.

It's back!!!

The camera is back and repaired. Now we can have pictures of me again. Of course they still won't be posted as often as you'd like. I'll try and do better.

Surgery

This past Thursday I woke up bright and early with my usual whimper to get Dada’s attention. I should have known something was going on when he came in already dressed for the day. Mama was already awake and dressed too, and Grandma was here. I must have been too tired to tell that everyone was kind of stressed out. I also should have got the hint that something was happening when I wasn’t offered any breakfast and we loaded up in the car.

The day before Mama and Dada started asking me if I wanted surgery. “Yeah,” I kept on saying. They gave me an “If you only knew” smile. But of course the trust I have in my parents outweighs any thoughts of deceit. We went to the doctor’s office so I got a little worried, but I’m young so I don’t’ quite remember what happens there, except I know I won’t like it.

I met some very nice ladies who smiled and laughed and waved at me. One put a red light on my toe, then my finger, and then my ear. She also tried finding my blood pressure. Good luck with that, last time they tried I didn’t have any. Then a man walked in and Mama and Dada didn’t seem so smiley anymore. I had Hippo with me to keep me happy since no one else was doing it.

After some boring grown up talk the lady with the red light issue put some medicine in a squirty. She gave it to Dada and he gave it to me. It was yummy but did a number on my coordination. Then Dada prayed for me and a lady came and took me away with the serious guy.

Two seconds later I woke up on a bed with a tube in my arm, a bandage on the other, my diaper hurt and no Mama or Dada. So I screamed. I screamed and screamed until Dada and Grandma came in and got me. Mama came a minute later. I was given some juice and a graham cracker (which I didn’t care for). I fell asleep on Mama’s lap when a different guy came in and started using really big words. Boring. I was very glad when I was wheeled out to the car but then they tried to take Hippo from me, I was not going to have that.

I got home and was given popsicles and a nap. I woke a little woozy but after eating something I felt better. I liked to be held by Mama and Dada and Grandma. I was read lots of books and pretty much had the royal treatment.

I am up and running now. Nothing can hold me back.

Later I was asked if I wanted to have surgery. Uhhh, “Yeah.”

These two pictures were taken right when we got home. You can see the bandage on my hand in the second one.

This picture was taken on the day of my surgery after my nap.

These last three pictures were taken the day after the surgery when I was allowed to play outside with my beans.

Thank you so much Grandma for coming and chasing me around. I had lots of fun.

Camping

After 16 and a half months of waiting Mama and Dada finally took me camping. We went to Pacific City, Oregon, with Bapa and Bapa’s ward. I got to play at the beach and eat outside and get dirty and sit by a fire and sleep in a tent and wake up at 5:30 in the morning. It was great. Here are some pictures from my adventure.

When we first got to the campsite we went to find Bapa and Bapa at the beach.

That is a big rock out there. Dada wouldn't let me swim to it.

This is that same rock but this was back when I was a baby in July of 2007. It was windy so we took a picture and then went back inside.

Back to now. I liked to hold the Frisbee.

Aunt Emmy-Emma was there too. She is keeping a good eye on the fire. She played with me and let me get up at 5:30.

This is our campsite. Mama, Dada, Aunt Emmy-Emma and I slept in the big tent and Bapa and Bapa slept in the small one. Bapa's snoring was as loud as the Dories' motors so it was hard to sleep with that next door.

Mama was feeding me a camping dinner: hotdogs and smores.

Our campground was crawling with bunnies. This one came over to say, "Feed me!!!"

Dada and I by our tent. I was cozy in my jammies.

I had a very busy first day of camping and couldn't wait to try sleeping in the tent. Here I am saying good night to Bapa. When it was time to go to sleep Mama asked me if I wanted to lie down and I said, "Yeah!" with a hint of Duh!

There are no pictures from the next day because all the batteries died in Dada's, Bapa's, and Aunt Emmy-Emma's cameras. That is ridiculous. I had a good time at the beach digging in the sand and running down the dune. I didn't like getting my hands too dirty though. I dug with a rake. I got so tired playing that I slept the whole way home. Mama slept too. And so did Dada... who was also driving. Maybe next time I'll just drive.

My big road trip

From July 12th through the 20th I was on my first big road trip. My mama and dada and I went to Boise, ID, Lehi, UT, and Springville, UT. Those are the places that we stayed the night. We stayed with Ashley in Boise, Brittany in Lehi, and Aunt Tawnia in Springville. We also stopped in Twin Falls, ID, and SLC, UT. Here are a few pictures from our journey.

Dada let me drive for some of the trip. For some reason my steering wheel didn't have much effect on the car. This is how I was for most of the driving. I think Mama preferred it that way.
While we were staying in Boise we went to see the Richens. That is Nate and Max. They were very nice and let me play with them on their swings.
Ashley is holding Danny (baby of the Richens) and Adam is trying to eat my neck. I think he has been watching too many vampire movies.
Here is Mama chatting with Doug and Mrs. Doug.
We left Boise on Monday and stopped in Twin Falls to go to the open house of this Temple. It was cool in there. Especially compared to outside where it was very hot. Dada carried me the whole time. I would have been good if he'd put me down.
My first ice cream cone. This was at a McDonalds that Dada used to stop at when he was younger and travelling to Utah.

We got to play in the sewers! In Lehi, UT, we stayed with Brittany. She is married to Andy and they have two kids - Parker (4) and Cohen (2). They have this fun roller coaster ride and I really liked riding it.
This is Brittany. This was at her parents'. She was very kind to me. She made her boys be quiet when I was trying to nap.
This is Parker. Peter Parker? No. He is just dressed up like Spiderman. He isn't really him.
Aunt Tawnia came and saw us while we were in Lehi. This is after dinner, but before dessert. We went out for Brittany's birthday. We had a good time.
Cohen didn't know what to do with me at first. After testing his boundaries and learning his limits and how to share we became good friends. Good enough to kiss on the mouth.
On Wednesday we went to Salt Lake City. Aunt Tawnia watched me while Mama and Dada were gone for 3 hours. I think they went into that pretty castle back there.
That night I got to try swimming for the first time. I liked it, and dunking wasn't too bad. Mama and Dada kept a good watch on me. Mostly Mama though because Dada was too busy going down the big water slide.
On Thursday we went to a petting zoo. There were lots of farm animals there. I pet a goat and a cow. The miniature Sicilian Donkey was scary so I wanted nothing to do with it.Here I am on my first pony ride. I wanted to go bare back, but Mama wouldn't let me, so I didn't want to go at all and bailed off before we made it all the way around once. We went on a wagon ride instead.

Thursday afternoon we drove down to Springville to see Aunt Tawnia. She took us to the park. I liked going down the slide with her. Dada was a little dramatic.

I loved Aunt Tawnia's potato chair. It was very comfy. Of course I had to sleep in my play-yard. Oh well.
On Saturday I went to the Boise Zoo with Ashley and Adam and Mama and Dada. On Sunday we drove home. I liked spending time with Adam and Ashley because they let me play with the twangy door stoppers and bring pine cones inside.
Here we are between Baker City and La Grande. We had a great time on our first family vacation.

Hi everyone

This is a post not for anyone in particular, so I guess it is for everyone.
First of all some things that I like. I really like peanut butter.
I also really like pineapple.

I didn't want my picture taken so I hid like an ostrich.
This is why I didn't want my picture taken. Check out that bruise on my forehead. I fell against a shelf. The sitters started calling me Scarface.
I didn't go to church because I was napping and mama was teaching so she had to be sure to get there. Dada and I hung out here. Yes I am trying on mama's shoes.
Dada took me outside. and let me play in the grass and with flowers.

Later mama and dada were letting me help take things out of the oven.

Then I spit my milk everywhere.
These pictures were all taken on or before the 12th of June. I have more to tell all of you soon. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. I spent the first day of summer at Silver Falls State Park with dada. Good ol' Oregon summer went and started with rain. Awesome.
